September 25, 2010
Thank you to all our triathletes for participating in the Make-A-Wish® Triathlon at Sea Colony and for an excellent day! Results are now available and we hope you will join us again next year.
About the Event
The Make-A-Wish Triathlon at Sea Colony is an exciting 1.5K ocean swim, 41K bike and 10K run for up to 1,000 athletes. Hosted in Bethany Beach, Del., the event is in its 27th year. Athletes can compete as an individual or as a member of a relay team. This event will again be the Delaware Qualifier for the Best Of The US competition keep series.
The ocean swim, scenic bike and run courses and phenomenal post-race picnic make this race a favorite among both seasoned triathletes and weekend warriors. All proceeds and pledges from the event benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Serving the states of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and Northern Virginia, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic is proud to have granted the wishes of more than 6,500 area children.
Fees for individual participants at the 2010 event will be $150*. The fee for a relay team is $150* per athlete. If you are not a member of the USAT, a $10* one-day license fee is required. Participants are not required to raise pledges to participate in the event. However, with the average cost of a wish in the Mid-Atlantic area at $7,500, we strongly encourage participants to fundraise as much as they can. Upon registering, each participant will have their own Fundraising Dashboard to make this process easier. The Make-A-Wish Foundation staff are also available to offer fundraising tips and guidance along the way.
Thank you for your interest in the 2011 Make-A-Wish Triathlon at Sea Colony. We hope to see you on the course!
